Our client wanted their new home to evoke a modern and streamline Asian aesthetic without feeling cold or sterile. Designer Chris Elkins and Zack Simmons transformed the original and more traditional layout of this kitchen into a sleek and smart space.
One of our favorite features of this kitchen is the traditional pantry door that is cleverly hidden in a paneled wall. Other notable features include the center island storage cabinets and the honed granite surface that incorporates a lower height butcher block. This kitchen layout facilitates both design and storage that results in a sleek but welcoming space.
“Our project was new construction of a custom house in Chapel Hill with a modern aesthetic. CKS did a great job throughout all phases of the project. Their team approach to design provided many interesting ideas that survived to the final plan. They were able to source a range of more exotic woods which were successfully implemented into the cabinetry. CKS worked well with our builder and sub-vendors to keep the project on schedule. Customer service to the end client seemed to be a consistent focus. The final product was spectacular, meeting our expectations of quality and workmanship.”
